Charlotte’s Story
Thriving with Pam's Coaching
"I’m Charlotte, and I work for the council, leading inspections and improvements. As someone with autism, navigating the complexities of my role was a constant challenge. The sensory overloads, social dynamics, and the need to maintain a façade of normality were overwhelming, leaving me stressed and exhausted. I felt I needed to always be perfect and that is obviously impossible to maintain and left me feeling like I was failing.
Everything changed when I started work-based strategy coaching with Pam. From our very first session, Pam made me feel truly understood and respected. She helped me recognise the importance of clearly and confidently communicating my needs and taught me effective strategies for doing so. Pam helped me to understand that every interaction was a two-way process that both myself and my manager were equally to invest in to get it right.
Pam provided a comprehensive workplace and reasonable accommodation assessment, identifying areas where adjustments could be made to support my needs. This led to changes in my working hours and patterns as well as a reduction in my face-to-face office time as well as a designated parking space and flexibility of my start and finish times.
Pam facilitated organisational training for my entire team, promoting an inclusive culture based on trust and support. This training was eye-opening for my colleagues, significantly improving our team dynamics. I felt more comfortable discussing my needs and challenges, knowing I had a supportive team behind me.
Thanks to Pam's coaching, my work life has transformed. I am now more productive and less stressed, and I feel valued and respected in my role. My overall well-being has greatly improved, and I no longer fear job loss or feel the need to hide my struggles. Instead, I have the tools and support I need to excel.
If you’re struggling at work due to a disability, I highly recommend Pam’s coaching services. She helped me unlock my potential, and I’m confident she can do the same for you."
